Analytics and Tracking Policy
We want to know which tools people use and which pages help them, so we can improve the site. We measure that with Google Analytics, and only if you allow it.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the cookie notice. Until then, no analytics code runs and no analytics cookies are set.
What it measures
- Pages viewed, how you arrived (for example a search engine or a link), and how long you stayed.
- Your device type, browser, screen size and approximate location (city or region).
- Actions such as using a calculator or sending a form, but not what you typed into it: we send Google only the page’s address without the figures you entered.
How we’ve set it up
- Google Signals and advertising personalization are turned off. We don’t use it for advertising.
- Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
- We keep analytics data for 14 months.
- We see reports in aggregate. We don’t try to identify individual visitors.
Google processes this data in the United States under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Opting out
- Choose “Essential only” in the cookie notice, or change your choice any time on our Cookie Policy page.
- Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What we don’t use
No advertising pixels (such as Facebook or TikTok), no ad networks, no session recording or heat-mapping, and no selling of browsing data.
Other Google services
- Google Fonts: the site’s typefaces load from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details to send them. No cookies are set.
- Google Search Console: tells us how the site appears in Google search. It uses search data from Google, not data about you from our site.
